Finding a winning idea in the technology sector is really hard. Identifying a concept, understanding market fit, doing the research, and securing clients is a daunting task for Canadian entrepreneurs, let alone new immigrants to the country.
Mary Yazdani’s technology career dates back 20 years to her native Iran, where she earned a master’s degree in systems networking and telecommunications. In November 2016, Yazdani moved to Canada and only a few years later, she established herself as an award-winning entrepreneur, including an Immigrant Entrepreneur Award from the City of Ottawa in 2021 and a Forty Under 40 in 2023.
At GenesisLink Consulting Services, which she founded in 2000, Yazdani spends much of her time consulting with new and established entrepreneurs on sales, marketing, R&D, human resources, and strategy. She is particularly passionate about helping immigrant entrepreneurs from Brazil, Portugal, India, Egypt, and other countries.
